M1 WIDENING

Following limited Public Consultation for this area on the above scheme, Ratby Parish Council are no further forward as to what, if anything will happen or how it will affect us. What is certain is that Section 2 of the plan involves J21 – J24a and will involve the taking of some land. Until the Highways Agency discloses its Preferred Route Option we do not know what this means for Ratby. Ratby Parish has properties adjacent to the North bound side of the motorway on Groby Road, Dane Hill and Ferndale Community Park itself.

There are also issues regarding noise, dust and pollution. All we do know is that works are planned to start in 2010 and be completed by 2015.
